    12The hired worker, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, abandons the sheep, and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters them.

    13The hired worker runs away because he is a hired worker and does not care about the sheep.

    1Truly, truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way is a thief and a robber.

    2But the one who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

    3The gatekeeper opens the door for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

    4When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

    5They will not follow a stranger; rather, they will run away from him, because they do not recognize the voice of strangers.
