9Because I have sinned against Him, I will bear the indignation of the LORD until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me into the light, and I will see His righteousness.
3The plowers plowed upon my back; they made their furrows long.
15What shall I say? He has spoken to me, and He has done this. I will walk humbly all my years because of this anguish of my soul.
20If I have sinned, what have I done to you, you who see everything we do? Why have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you?
17Behold, blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.
20See, LORD, how distressed I am! I am in anguish within, my heart is overturned because I have been very rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death.
21People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it. Bring the day you have announced, so they may become like me.
15If I am wicked, woe to me; if I am righteous, I dare not lift my head, filled with shame and seeing my misery.
19He has cast me into the mud, and I am reduced to dust and ashes.
6He has made me a byword among the peoples, and I have become one at whom they spit.
7My eyes have grown dim from grief, and all my limbs are like a shadow.

3so I have been allotted months of futility, and nights of misery have been assigned to me.
35'They struck me,' you will say, 'but I was not hurt; they beat me, but I did not feel it. When will I wake up so I can look for another drink?'

9He has blocked my ways with cut stone; He has made my paths crooked.
7You have placed me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths.
18The Lord has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death.
15I have sewn sackcloth over my skin and buried my strength in the dust.
7I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD.
8He has blocked my path so I cannot pass; He has shrouded my ways with darkness.
