12 So he said, "A nobleman traveled to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself and then return.

14 For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his own servants and entrusted his belongings to them.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey immediately.
16 The servant who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and made another five talents.
17 In the same way, the servant who had two talents also gained two more.
18 But the servant who had received the one talent went away, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.
19 After a long time, the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

21 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’
22 The servant who had received two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.’
23 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master.’
24 Then the servant who had received one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
26 His master answered, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! You knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered.
27 Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return, I would have received it back with interest.
28 So take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.
29 For to everyone who has, more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken away from them.
30 And throw that worthless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
1 Jesus also said to His disciples, "There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this manager was wasting his possessions.
2 So he called him and said, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you can no longer be manager.'
3 The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do, since my master is taking away my position? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.'

14 'Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.'
46 Blessed is that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.
47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
21 The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’

20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This very night your soul will be required of you, and the things you have prepared—who will they belong to?'
