9He went back into the governor's palace and asked Jesus, "Where are you from?" But Jesus gave him no answer.
10Pilate said to him, "Are you not speaking to me? Do you not know that I have the authority to crucify you and the authority to release you?"
11Jesus answered, "You would have no authority over me unless it had been given to you from above. Therefore, the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.
12Because of this, Pilate tried to release him. But the Jews kept shouting, "If you release this man, you are not a friend of Caesar. Anyone who claims to be a king opposes Caesar."

38Above Him was written an inscription: This is the King of the Jews.
22Pilate said to them, 'Then what should I do with Jesus, who is called the Christ?' They all said, 'Let Him be crucified!'
23But he said, 'Why? What evil has He done?' Yet they kept shouting all the more, 'Let Him be crucified!'
26The inscription of the charge written against Him read: 'The King of the Jews.'
