Then he may enter the camp, but he shall remain unclean until evening. 8 The one who burns the heifer must also wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he shall remain unclean until evening. 9 A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer and place them outside the camp in a clean place. They shall be kept for the Israelite community for use in the water of purification; it is a purification offering. 10 The one who gathers the ashes of the heifer must also wash his clothes, and he shall remain unclean until evening. This shall be a lasting statute for the Israelites and for the foreigner living among them. 11 Whoever touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean for seven days. 12 He must purify himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day, then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third day and the seventh day, he will not be clean. 13 Anyone who touches a dead body, the lifeless body of a person who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the LORD's tabernacle. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. Then the one being purified must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be clean by evening. 20 But if someone is unclean and does not purify himself, that person shall be cut off from the assembly because he has defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. The water of purification has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.
