  • 4They will no longer pour out wine offerings to the LORD, and their sacrifices will not please Him. Their sacrifices will be like the bread of mourners; all who eat it will become defiled. Their food will only satisfy their own appetite; it will not enter the house of the LORD.

  • 5The people spoke against God and Moses: 'Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread, no water, and we detest this miserable food!'

  • 4They will die from deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will lie like dung on the ground. They will perish by the sword and famine, and their corpses will be food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth.

  • 5The cords of death surrounded me, and the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
