25 And they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli.
26 And she said, Oh my lord, as your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman that stood by you here, praying to the LORD.
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child served the LORD before Eli the priest.
12 Now the sons of Eli were worthless men; they did not know the LORD.
13 And this was the priests' custom with the people, that, when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest's servant would come while the meat was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand;
4 And when the time came that Elkanah offered sacrifice, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:
1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaimzophim, of the hill country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite:
2 And he had two wives; the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
4 So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
7 And so he did year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, so she provoked her; therefore Hannah wept and did not eat.
8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why do you weep? and why do you not eat? and why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?
9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat on a seat by a doorpost of the temple of the LORD.
11 And the ark of God was taken, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were killed.
12 And a man of Benjamin ran from the army and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes torn and dirt upon his head.
13 And when he came, behold, Eli sat upon a seat by the roadside watching, for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city and told it, all the city cried out.
14 And when Eli heard the noise of the outcry, he said, What does the noise of this tumult mean? And the man came in hastily and told Eli.
18 But Samuel served before the LORD, being a child, wearing a linen ephod.
19 Moreover, his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him each year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give you descendants from this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went to their own home.
21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
22 Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did to all Israel; and how they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
23 And he said to them, Why do you such things? for I hear of your evil dealings from all the people.
16 And the man said to Eli, I am he who came out of the army, and I fled today out of the army. And he said, What happened, my son?
17 And the messenger answered and said, Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people, and your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.

2 And it happened at that time, when Eli was lying down in his place, and his eyes had begun to grow dim, that he could not see;
3 Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORD's priest in Shiloh, was wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.
28 Therefore I have also lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.
5 And the man Micah had a house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehem in Judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he stayed there.
8 And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehem in Judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
33 And any of yours whom I do not cut off from my altar shall bring sorrow to your eyes and grief to your heart: and all the increase of your house shall die in the prime of their life.
34 And this shall be a sign to you, that shall come upon your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; they shall both die on the same day.
35 And I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, that shall do according to what is in my heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before my anointed forever.
1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem in Judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
2 And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem in Judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and remained there.
14 And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice or offering forever.
15 And Samuel lay until morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. But Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.
19 Then they said, Behold, there is a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of Bethel, on the east side of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that were in Nob: and they all came to the king.
1 And the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and consecrated Eleazar his son to guard the ark of the LORD.
