12Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

8But, beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is patient toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are in it shall be burned up.
13Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully on the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance;
15But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct;
16Because it is written, "Be holy; for I am holy."
17And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in reverent fear;
2While they observe your pure conduct with reverence.
7But the end of all things is at hand: be therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
12Having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
17If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
3According to his divine power, he has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to glory and virtue:
4By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
17You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things beforehand, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
10Therefore, brethren, be diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things, you shall never fall:
11For so an entrance will be provided to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
11They shall perish; but You remain; and they all shall grow old as does a garment;
9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
30Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
1Know this also, that in the last days perilous times will come.
12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world;
13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ;
20For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
11For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious.
13Each one's work will become clear: for the day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is.
1Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
14Knowing that shortly I must put off this tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me.
15Moreover, I will make every effort that you may always remember these things after my departure.
27And this phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
2That you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as if the day of Christ is at hand.
3And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

11For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner, what diligence it produced in you, yes, what clearing of yourselves, yes, what indignation, yes, what fear, yes, what vehement desire, yes, what zeal, yes, what vindication! In all things you have proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
17But, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
2For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.
31and those who use this world, as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.
