And command the people, saying, You are to pass through the coast of your brethren, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, and they shall be afraid of you; take good heed to yourselves therefore.

17Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King's Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territories."
18But Edom said to him, "You shall not pass through my land, lest I come out against you with the sword."
12The Horites also dwelt in Seir previously; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their place, as Israel did to the land of his possession, which the LORD gave to them.
14Let my lord, I pray you, pass over before his servant, and I will lead on softly, according to the pace of the cattle that go before me and the children are able to endure, until I come to my lord in Seir.
15And Esau said, Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me. And he said, What need is there? Let me find grace in the sight of my lord.
29Then I said to you, Do not be terrified, nor be afraid of them.
22As He did to the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, when He destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them and dwelt in their place even unto this day.
18And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God has given you this land to possess; all you who are able shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel.
4And I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave to Esau Mount Seir to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.
7Turn, and take your journey, and go to the mountain of the Amorites, and to all the places near there, in the plain, in the hills, and in the valley, and in the south, and by the sea, to the land of the Canaanites, and to Lebanon, to the great river, the river Euphrates.
8Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them and to their descendants after them.
8And said, If Esau comes to one group and attacks it, then the other group which is left shall escape.
12Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it become a snare in your midst.
20Then he said, "You shall not pass through." So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong army.
21Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him.
3And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother in the land of Seir, the country of Edom.
40But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.
18You are to pass through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day.
8Thus Esau dwelt in the mountain of Seir. Esau is Edom.
6And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness.
17Then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray you, pass through your land: but the king of Edom would not listen. And in like manner they sent to the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.
