Then Haggai answered and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before Me, says the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

4Is it time for you, yourselves, to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies in ruins?
12But you have profaned it, in that you say, The table of the LORD is defiled; and its produce, even its food, is contemptible.
13You said also, Behold, what a weariness it is! and you have sneered at it, says the LORD of hosts; and you brought what was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus you brought an offering: should I accept this from your hand? says the LORD.
14But cursed be the deceiver, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, says the LORD of hosts, and my name is feared among the heathen.
7You offer defiled bread upon my altar; and you say, How have we polluted you? In that you say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.
8And if you offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? Offer it now to your governor; will he be pleased with you, or accept you? says the LORD of hosts.
9And now, I pray you, plead with God that he will be gracious to us: this has been by your means: will he regard you? says the LORD of hosts.
11Which You have commanded by Your servants the prophets, saying, The land unto which you go to possess it is an unclean land with the filthiness of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
1In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the prophet Haggai, saying,

17Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
11Depart, depart, go out from there, touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of her; be clean, you who bear the vessels of the LORD.
20And again the word of the LORD came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,
14They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have defiled themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
15They cried to them, 'Depart! Unclean! Depart, depart, do not touch!' When they fled and wandered, they said among the nations, 'They shall no longer dwell there.'

35And everything on which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or stove, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean and shall be unclean to you.
36Nevertheless a fountain or pit, in which there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but whatever touches their carcass shall be unclean.
22And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the soul who touches it shall be unclean until evening.
28And he that carries the carcass of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: they are unclean to you.
5Or whoever touches any creeping thing, by which he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has;
6The soul who has touched any such thing shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he washes his flesh with water.
8For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
32And upon whatever any of them, when they are dead, does fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or bag, whatever vessel it is, in which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; so it shall be cleansed.
15To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
7When you brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to defile it, even my house, when you offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they broke my covenant because of all your abominations.
41And he shall cause the house to be scraped all around, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off outside the city into an unclean place:
2Or if a person touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
4Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.
15And they gathered their brethren, sanctified themselves, and came according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.
16And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it to carry it out to the brook Kidron.
11And if it is any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:
7And those men said to him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the children of Israel?
26Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and unholy, neither have they shown difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from My sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
38Moreover this they have done to me: they have defiled my sanctuary on the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.
13And this you have done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping and crying out, so much that he regards not the offering any more, nor receives it with good will at your hand.
21Moreover, the soul who touches any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean animal, or any abominable unclean thing, and eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which belong to the LORD, that soul shall be cut off from his people.
