But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, and did not forsake them.
24Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

13In that He says, A new covenant, He has made the first old. Now that which decays and grows old is ready to vanish away.

8And might not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that did not set their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
17Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they went whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves to them: they quickly turned out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; they did not do so.
22For I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
3And say to them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel: Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant,
4Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all that I command you; so shall you be my people, and I will be your God:
60Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish unto you an everlasting covenant.
5Thus says the LORD, What wrong have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have followed idols, and have become idolaters?
8And I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore out of the land that I gave their ancestors, if only they are careful to do all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.
20For when I shall have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, that flows with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat; then will they turn to other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.
19But I said, How shall I put you among the children and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? And I said, You shall call me, My Father; and shall not turn away from me.
4And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, where they were strangers.
8But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me: they did not cast away every man the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
18But I said to their children in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
9Who said to his father and to his mother, I have not seen him; neither did he acknowledge his brothers, nor knew his own children: for they have observed your word, and kept your covenant.
