26 And afterward Joshua struck them and killed them, and hanged them on five trees; and they were hanging on the trees until evening.
27 So it was at the time of the going down of the sun that Joshua commanded, and they took them down from the trees, cast them into the cave where they had hidden, and laid large stones against the mouth of the cave, which remain to this very day.
28 On that day Joshua took Makkedah and struck it with the edge of the sword, he utterly destroyed its king, and all the people who were in it; he left none remaining. He did to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.
18 So Joshua said, Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to guard them.
5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites—the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon—gathered themselves together and went up, they and all their armies, and encamped before Gibeon and made war against it.
6 And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the camp at Gilgal, saying, Do not let your hand be slack from your servants; come up to us quickly, and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the mountains have gathered together against us.
5 And when all these kings met together, they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
3 So Adonizedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying,
17 From Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon: and their kings he took, and struck them, and killed them.
18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

10 And the LORD threw them into confusion before Israel and killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them along the road that goes to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah.

2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel, and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made themselves the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strongholds.
41 And Joshua conquered them from Kadesh Barnea as far as Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even as far as Gibeon.
6 To dwell in the clefts of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.
22 And they went, and came unto the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.
23 So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:

16 And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers return: and afterward you may go your way.
12 And he took about five thousand men and set them to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city.
13 And when they had set the people, even all the army that was on the north of the city, and their liers in wait on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley.
14 And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw it, that they hurried and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he did not know that there were liers in ambush against him behind the city.
19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
38 Then Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it.
11 Both of them revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines, and the Philistines said, "Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hidden themselves."
36 Then Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, to Hebron; and they fought against it.
15 Now three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam, while the army of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
