12 They say to their mothers, Where is grain and wine? as they faint like the wounded in the streets of the city, as their life is poured out in their mothers' bosom.
7 Therefore now thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Why do you commit this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, to leave you no one to remain;
20 Yet hear the word of the LORD, O you women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbor lamentation.
21 For death has climbed up into our windows, and has entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.

12 Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is done to me, with which the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
16 And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; they will have no one to bury them—neither them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters—for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
17 Therefore, you shall speak this word to them: 'Let my eyes flow with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.'
18 If I go out to the field, then behold, those slain with the sword; and if I enter the city, then behold, those sick from famine! Yes, both prophet and priest roam about in a land they do not know.

4 How long will the land mourn and the herbs of every field wither, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it? The beasts and the birds are consumed, because they said, 'He will not see our final end.'
2 Hear, O heavens, and listen, O earth: for the LORD has spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
17 Do you not see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

7 In you they have treated father and mother with contempt: in your midst they have dealt oppressively with the stranger: in you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

18 Their bows will dash the young men to pieces; and they will have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye will not spare children.
17 Thus says the LORD of hosts, Consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the skilled women, that they may come:
6 Ask now, and see whether a man is in labor with a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in labor, and all faces turned pale?
10 Yet she was carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
2 To turn aside the needy from justice and to take away the rights from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
