And he said to them, Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

2 And spoke to him, saying, Tell us, by what authority do you do these things? Or who is he who gave you this authority?
3 And he answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing; and you answer me:
6 For this reason, pay your taxes also, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
13 And he said to them, Collect no more than what is appointed to you.
8 And Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
27 Nevertheless, lest we should offend them, go to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up; and when you have opened its mouth, you shall find a piece of money: take that, and give it to them for me and you.
