16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end that the promise might be sure to all the descendants; not to those only who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,
17As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.
18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, So shall your descendants be.
21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
18For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise, but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
8Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father: for I say to you, That God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

6But he whose genealogy is not counted from them received tithes from Abraham, and blessed him who had the promises.
8That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted as descendants.
