12When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.
13He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.
14I will become his father and he will become my son. When he sins, I will correct him with the rod of men and with wounds inflicted by human beings.
15But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.
16Your house and your kingdom will stand before me permanently; your dynasty will be permanent.’”
17For I, the LORD, promise:“David will never lack a successor to occupy the throne over the nation of Israel.
36I will leave his son one tribe so my servant David’s dynasty may continue to serve me in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen as my home.
37I will select you; you will rule over all you desire to have and you will be king over Israel.
38You must obey all I command you to do, follow my instructions, do what I approve, and keep my rules and commandments, like my servant David did. Then I will be with you and establish for you a lasting dynasty, as I did for David; I will give you Israel.
39I will humiliate David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.”

12If your sons keep my covenant and the rules I teach them, their sons will also sit on your throne forever.”
10He will build a temple to honor me; he will become my son, and I will become his father. I will grant to his dynasty permanent rule over Israel.’
7“So now, say this to my servant David:‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says:“I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you a leader of my people Israel.
34I will not take the whole kingdom from his hand. I will allow him to be ruler for the rest of his life for the sake of my chosen servant David who kept my commandments and rules.
8“So now, say this to my servant David:‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has said: I took you from the pasture and from your work as a shepherd to make you leader of my people Israel.
35Then follow him up as he comes and sits on my throne. He will be king in my place; I have decreed that he will be ruler over Israel and Judah.”
8I will not make Israel again leave the land I gave to their ancestors, provided that they carefully obey all I commanded them, the whole law my servant Moses ordered them to obey.”
7But the LORD was unwilling to destroy David’s dynasty because of the promise he had made to give David a perpetual dynasty.
25So now, O LORD God, make this promise you have made about your servant and his family a permanent reality. Do as you promised,
8I will not make Israel again leave the land I gave to their ancestors, provided that they carefully obey all I commanded them, the whole law, the rules and regulations given through Moses.”
12However, for your father David’s sake I will not do this while you are alive. I will tear it away from your son’s hand instead.
4‘I will give you an eternal dynasty and establish your throne throughout future generations.’”(Selah)
