7He put an idol of Asherah he had made in the temple, about which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon,“This temple in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will be my permanent home.
45But King Solomon will be empowered and David’s dynasty will endure permanently before the LORD.
21So now swear to me in the LORD’s name that you will not kill my descendants after me or destroy my name from the house of my father.”
35Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David.
