7The Inevitability of Death“But there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.
8Although its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump begins to die in the soil,
20that you may take them to their borders and perceive the pathways to their homes?
21You know, for you were born before them; and the number of your days is great!
25You will also know that your children will be numerous, and your descendants like the grass of the earth.

13when your cattle and flocks increase, when you have plenty of silver and gold, and when you have abundance of everything,
8Better to have a little with righteousness than to have abundant income without justice.
19Indeed, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth others spring up.
14May he increase your numbers, yours and your children’s!

21“Reconcile yourself with God, and be at peace with him; in this way your prosperity will be good.
18You must remember the LORD your God, for he is the one who gives ability to get wealth; if you do this he will confirm his covenant that he made by oath to your ancestors, even as he has to this day.
2A King Will Come and a Remnant Will Prosper(5:1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.
17Indeed, there is hope for your posterity. Your children will return to their own territory. I, the LORD, affirm it!

11Indeed, may the LORD, the God of your ancestors, make you a thousand times more numerous than you are now, blessing you just as he said he would!
8If the LORD your God enlarges your borders as he promised your ancestors and gives you all the land he pledged to them,
6and reveal to you the secrets of wisdom– for true wisdom has two sides– so that you would know that God has forgiven some of your sins.
19Out of those places you will hear songs of thanksgiving and the sounds of laughter and merriment. I will increase their number and they will not dwindle away. I will bring them honor and they will no longer be despised.
