- Acts 7:2-9 : 2 And he said, Men, brothers, and fathers, listen; The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, 3 And said to him, Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and come into the land which I will show you. 4 Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans, and lived in Haran; and from there, when his father was dead, he moved him into this land, where you now dwell. 5 And He gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on; yet he promised that He would give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him, when as yet he had no child. 6 And God spoke in this way, that his descendants would dwell in a strange land, and that they would bring them into bondage, and treat them poorly for four hundred years. 7 And the nation to whom they will be in bondage, I will judge, said God; and after that they shall come out, and serve me in this place. 8 And He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begot Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob; and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs. 9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt, but God was with him, 10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. 11 Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction; and our fathers found no sustenance. 12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers first. 13 And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers; and Joseph's family was made known to Pharaoh. 14 Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob and all his relatives, seventy-five souls. 15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he and our fathers, 16 And were carried over into Shechem, and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem. 17 But when the time of the promise drew near, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, 18 Until another king arose who did not know Joseph. 19 This king dealt shrewdly with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, forcing them to expose their infants so that they might not live. 20 At this time Moses was born, and was exceedingly fair, and was brought up in his father's house for three months; 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and brought him up as her own son. 22 And Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds. 23 And when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him who was oppressed, and struck the Egyptian. 25 For he supposed his brothers would understand that God would deliver them by his hand, but they did not understand. 26 And the next day he showed himself to them as they were quarreling, and would have set them at peace, saying, Men, you are brothers; why do you wrong one another? 27 But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Will you kill me, as you did the Egyptian yesterday? 29 Then Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he had two sons. 30 And when forty years were complete, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight; and as he drew near to observe, the voice of the Lord came to him, 32 Saying, I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled and did not dare to look. 33 Then the Lord said to him, Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. 34 I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt. 35 This Moses, whom they refused, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? the same God sent to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 He brought them out, after he showed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years. 37 This is that Moses, who said to the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up for you from your brethren, like me; him you shall hear. 38 This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers; who received the living oracles to give to us: 39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but rejected him, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt, 40 Saying to Aaron, Make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. 41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifices to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Did you offer to me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel? 43 Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Rephan, images which you made to worship them; and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. 44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He had appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, 45 Which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, 46 Who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built Him a house. 48 However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me? says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? 50 Has not my hand made all these things? 51 You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. 52 Which of the prophets have your fathers not persecuted? And they have killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now become the betrayers and murderers, 53 Who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.

And You have fulfilled Your words, for You are righteous; 9 And You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea; 10 You showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his servants, and against all the people of his land. For You knew they acted proudly against them. So You made a name for Yourself, as it is this day. 11 You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and You threw their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters. 12 Moreover, You led them by day with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire, to give them light on the way they should go.

- Exod 15:1-9 : 1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously: the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. 4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army he has cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The depths have covered them: they sank to the bottom like a stone. 6 Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power: your right hand, O LORD, has dashed in pieces the enemy. 7 And in the greatness of your excellence you have overthrown those who rose against you: you sent forth your wrath, which consumed them like stubble. 8 And with the blast of your nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright like a heap, and the depths congealed in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 You blew with your wind, the sea covered them: they sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them. 13 In your mercy you have led forth the people whom you have redeemed: you have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation. 14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Philistia. 15 Then the chiefs of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. 16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of your arm they shall be as still as a stone; till your people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over whom you have purchased. 17 You will bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which you have made for you to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which your hands have established. 18 The LORD shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea. 20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. 21 And Miriam answered them, Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea.
- Exod 18:11 : 11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods, for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them.
- Deut 4:20 : 20 But the LORD has taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be to him a people of inheritance, as you are this day.
- Deut 4:34 : 34 Or has God attempted to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand, by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
- Deut 4:37 : 37 And because he loved your fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought you out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
