Just as a branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.

- Heb 9:15-17 : 15 Therefore, Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. 16 For where there is a will, it must be established that the death of the one who made it has occurred. 17 For a will takes effect only when someone has died; it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive.
- Heb 10:26-30 : 26 For if we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severe punishment do you think someone deserves who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, treated as unholy the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, 'Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,' says the Lord. And again, 'The Lord will judge His people.'
