He said to me, ‘Solomon your son is the one who will build My house and My courts, for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father.

12Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and carry out my ordinances, and keep all my commandments by walking in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
4He said, 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has fulfilled it with His hands, saying:
5'From the day I brought My people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city from any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for My name to be there, nor did I choose any man to be a ruler over My people Israel.
6But I have chosen Jerusalem for My name to be there, and I have chosen David to rule over My people Israel.'
7Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
8But the LORD said to my father David, 'Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well to have this desire in your heart.
9However, you shall not build the house; instead, your son, who will come from your body, he shall build the house for My name.'
10The LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke, and I have taken the place of my father David and now sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised. I have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15He said, 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying:'
16'Since the day I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city from all the tribes of Israel to build a house where My name might be, but I chose David to rule My people Israel.'
17Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
18But the LORD said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well to have this desire in your heart.'
19Nevertheless, you will not build the house yourself; rather, your son, your own descendant, will build the house for My name.
20The LORD has fulfilled His word that He spoke: I have arisen in place of my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised. I have also built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
2And I have built a lofty house for You, a place for You to dwell forever.
13I have indeed built a high and exalted house for You, a place where You may dwell forever.
12Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
38If you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, doing what is right in My eyes by keeping My statutes and commands, as My servant David did, then I will be with you. I will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.
16I have chosen and consecrated this house so that My name may be there forever. My eyes and My heart will always be there.
8Solomon replied to God, "You have shown great lovingkindness to my father David and have made me king in his place.
3The LORD said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and your plea that you made before Me. I have consecrated this temple you have built by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will always be there.'
1Solomon assigned seventy thousand men to carry burdens, eighty thousand men to cut stone in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred supervisors to oversee them.
6Solomon replied, "You have shown great lovingkindness to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. You have continued this great kindness to him by giving him a son to sit on his throne this day."
27For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build you a house.' Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
35You are to go up with him, and he is to sit on my throne and reign in my place. I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.'
19And give my son Solomon an undivided heart to keep your commandments, your statutes, and your decrees, and to carry out all these plans, building the temple for which I have made preparations.
20Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.
47But it was Solomon who built Him a house.
