4"Go and tell my servant David: 'This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.
5For I have not lived in a house from the day I brought Israel out until this very day. I have moved from tent to tent and from tabernacle to tabernacle.
6In all the places where I walked with Israel, did I ever say to any of the judges of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd my people, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"
8They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your name, saying,
20The LORD has fulfilled His word that He spoke: I have arisen in place of my father David, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised. I have also built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
21And there I have placed a place for the Ark, which contains the covenant of the LORD that He made with our ancestors when He brought them out of Egypt.
14I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.
12Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
4The house I am building will be large because our God is greater than all gods.
5But who can build a house for Him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain Him? Who am I, then, to build Him a house—except as a place to burn offerings before Him?
6So now, send me a skilled craftsman, knowledgeable in working with gold, silver, bronze, iron, purple, crimson, and blue yarn, and able to engrave designs. He will work with the skilled craftsmen who are with me in Judah and Jerusalem, whom my father David provided.
9I will give your servants, the woodcutters who cut the timber, twenty thousand cors of crushed wheat, twenty thousand cors of barley, twenty thousand gallons of wine, and twenty thousand gallons of oil.
27For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build you a house.' Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
10and as they have done since the time I appointed judges over my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore, I declare to you that the LORD himself will build a house for you.
25You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. That is why your servant has found the courage to pray before you.
14'This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.'
2Then King David stood to his feet and said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I had it in my heart to build a resting place for the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD and a footstool for our God, and I made preparations to build it.
16And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.
17Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
38If you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, doing what is right in My eyes by keeping My statutes and commands, as My servant David did, then I will be with you. I will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.
