28 King David responded, "Call Bathsheba to me." So she came into the king's presence and stood before him.
6 Solomon replied, "You have shown great lovingkindness to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and uprightness of heart. You have continued this great kindness to him by giving him a son to sit on his throne this day."
7 Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David, but I am only a young and inexperienced servant who does not know how to carry out his duties.
8 Solomon replied to God, "You have shown great lovingkindness to my father David and have made me king in his place.
9 Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.
46 Moreover, Solomon has taken his seat on the royal throne.
47 The king's servants have also come to bless our lord King David, saying, 'May your God make Solomon's name more famous than yours and his throne greater than yours!' And the king bowed on his bed in worship.
48 And the king said, 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who has allowed one of my descendants to sit on my throne today, and my own eyes have seen it.'"
17 He continued, 'Please ask King Solomon—he will not refuse you—to give me Abishag the Shunammite as my wife.'
18 'Very well,' Bathsheba replied. 'I will speak to the king for you.'
19 So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him on behalf of Adonijah. The king rose to meet her, bowed down to her, and then sat on his throne. He also had a throne placed for the king’s mother, and she sat at his right hand.
20 She said, 'I have one small request to make of you. Do not refuse me.' The king replied, 'Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you.'
43 Jonathan replied to Adonijah, "No! Our lord King David has made Solomon king.

8 'You have all conspired against me! No one reveals to me when my son makes a covenant with the son of Jesse. None of you feels sorry for me or tells me that my son has stirred up my servant to lie in wait for me, as he does today.'
18 Then King David went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, "Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord GOD. You have also spoken of your servant's house for a long time to come, and this is instruction for mankind, O Lord GOD!
35 'Aren’t Zadok and Abiathar the priests with you? Whatever you hear in the king’s palace, tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.'
1 Then King David said to the entire assembly, "My son Solomon, the one chosen by God, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great because this temple is not for man but for the LORD God."
16 'Now, LORD, God of Israel, keep for Your servant David, my father, what You promised him, saying: "You shall never lack a man to sit before Me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in their ways, walking in My law as you have walked before Me."
4 And you will ensure that the LORD fulfills His promise to me, saying, 'If your sons are careful to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.'
14 Ahimelech answered the king, 'Who among all your servants is as faithful as David, the king's son-in-law, captain of your bodyguard, and highly respected in your house?'
27 For you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build you a house.' Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
11 When your days are fulfilled and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.
15 Now I have come to speak this word to my lord the king because the people have made me afraid. Your servant thought, 'I will speak to the king—perhaps the king will grant the request of his servant.
