    50So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Without a sword in his hand, he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

    51Then David ran and stood over the Philistine. He took the Philistine’s sword, drew it from its sheath, and killed him by cutting off his head. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they turned and ran.

    52The men of Israel and Judah rose up, shouted, and pursued the Philistines all the way to the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron. The dead Philistines lay scattered along the road to Shaaraim, as far as Gath and Ekron.
