22 Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, "Allow David to remain in my service, for he has found favor in my sight."

But if men have done it, may they be cursed before the LORD, because they have driven me out today to prevent me from having a share in the LORD's inheritance, saying, 'Go, serve other gods.'
5 David went out and was successful in everything Saul sent him to do. Saul gave him command over the soldiers, and he was well-liked by everyone, including Saul’s officers.
18 One of the young men answered, "I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a valiant warrior, eloquent, and handsome, and the LORD is with him."
14 David asked him, 'How is it that you were not afraid to lift your hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?'
10 The LORD has fulfilled the word that He spoke, and I have taken the place of my father David and now sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised. I have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
30 The Philistine commanders continued to go out to battle, but every time they went out, David had more success than all of Saul’s servants, and he became highly esteemed.
17 David said to God, "Was it not I who gave the command to count the people? I am the one who has sinned and acted wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? LORD my God, let Your hand fall on me and my family, but do not let this plague remain on Your people."
