7If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or daughter, or the wife of your embrace, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods'—gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,
15The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people. You must listen to him.
20But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.
21You may say to yourselves, 'How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?'
22If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be afraid of him.
12All Israel will hear and be afraid, and they will no longer do such wickedness among you.
13If you hear about one of the cities the LORD your God is giving you to live in,
14that wicked men have come out from among you and led the inhabitants of their city astray, saying, 'Let us go and worship other gods'—gods you have not known—
21At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or ‘Look, there He is!’ do not believe it.
22For false messiahs and false prophets will rise and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
1The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the word of the LORD.
3This is what the Lord GOD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!
9But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his word comes to pass.
8This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Do not let the prophets or diviners among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that you are dreaming.
9For they are prophesying falsely in my name. I have not sent them, declares the LORD.
11If someone full of wind and deceit lies and says, 'I will preach to you about wine and strong drink,' that would be just the preacher for this people!
24For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
33When it happens—and behold, it will happen—they will know that a prophet was among them.
18I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
32Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the LORD. They tell them and lead My people astray with their lies and reckless boasting. Yet I did not send or command them to do so, and they do not benefit these people at all, declares the LORD.
28Let the prophet who has a dream recount his dream, but let the one who has My word speak it faithfully. For what is straw compared to grain? declares the LORD.
25I have heard what the prophets who prophesy falsely in My name are saying: 'I have dreamed! I have dreamed!'
9And if the prophet is deceived into giving a message, it is I, the LORD, who have deceived that prophet. I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.
40So beware that what is spoken of in the prophets does not come upon you:
8'If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first sign, they may believe the second.'
22Moses said: 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He tells you.
23And it will be that every person who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.'
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
16This is what the LORD of Hosts says: Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.
2If a man or woman in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you is found to have committed an evil act in the sight of the LORD your God, violating His covenant,
15In a dream, a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while they slumber on their beds,
14The LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in My name. I did not send them, command them, or speak to them. They are seeing false visions, giving worthless divinations and deceitful messages from their own hearts.
29Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others evaluate what is said.
11For all the signs and wonders the Lord sent him to perform in the land of Egypt, against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all his land,

17But if your heart turns away and you do not obey, and if you are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them,
19But if you turn away and forsake the statutes and commandments I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,
3But to this day, the LORD has not given you a heart to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.
