    19And the LORD said, 'I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim My name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will show compassion on whom I will show compassion.'

    20But He added, 'You cannot see My face, for no one can see Me and live.'

    21Then the LORD said, 'There is a place near Me where you may stand on a rock.'

    22When My glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.

    33When Moses finished speaking with them, he covered his face with a veil.

    34But whenever Moses went in before the LORD to speak with Him, he would remove the veil until he came out. When he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded,

    35they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the LORD again.
