1 The word of the LORD came to me, saying:
2 Son of man, what is the wood of a vine compared to any other tree or the branch that is among the trees of the forest?
13 All the birds of the sky rested on its fallen trunk, and all the wild animals were among its branches.
14 This happened so that no trees beside the abundant waters may grow tall enough to reach the clouds, nor lift their tops among the thick branches, and no trees that drink water will stand before them in their height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the lower earth, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit.
8 Even the cypresses rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, 'Since you were laid low, no woodcutter comes against us.'

18 By the wrath of the LORD Almighty, the land is scorched, and the people are like fuel for the fire; no one spares his brother.
24 Then all the trees of the field will know that I, the LORD, bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it.’
11 Its branches were strong, fit for rulers' scepters. It towered high; its height was noticeable among the branches, in the lushness of its abundance.
1 Open your gates, O Lebanon, so that fire may consume your cedars.
2 Wail, O cypress, for the cedar has fallen, because the majestic trees are destroyed! Wail, oaks of Bashan, for the dense forest has come down!

19 I will put in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
23 On that day in every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels, there will be only briers and thorns.
16 His roots below will dry up, and his branches above will wither.
6 I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily and take root like the cedars of Lebanon.
24 Through your servants you have mocked the Lord. You have said, "With my many chariots I have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost parts of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars and its choicest cypress trees. I have reached its remotest heights, the densest of its forests.
18 do not boast against the branches. If you do boast, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
15 Does the axe exalt itself above the one who wields it? Or does the saw boast against the one who moves it? It would be like a rod waving the one who lifts it, or a staff acting as though it were not made of wood.
21 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High that has come upon my lord the king:
