On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your livestock, nor any foreigner residing within your gates. 11 For in six days, the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life. 7 If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please her master, who has designated her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He does not have the right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he designates her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he takes another wife, he must not diminish her food, clothing, or marital rights. 11 If he does not provide these three things for her, she is to go free, without any payment. 12 Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. 13 But if he did not intend to kill, and it was allowed by God to happen, then I will provide a place where he can flee. 14 However, if someone schemes and acts deliberately to kill his neighbor, you shall take him even from my altar to be put to death. 15 Anyone who strikes his father or mother shall surely be put to death. 16 Anyone who kidnaps another person, whether he sells him or the victim is still in his possession, shall surely be put to death. 17 Anyone who curses his father or mother shall surely be put to death. 18 If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist, and he does not die but is confined to bed, 19 if the injured man is able to get up and walk around outside with a staff, the one who struck him shall be acquitted. Nevertheless, he must pay for the time lost and ensure the injured man is completely healed. 20 If a man strikes his male or female servant with a rod, and the servant dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. 21 However, if the servant survives for a day or two, the man shall not be punished, because the servant is his property. 22 If men are fighting and they strike a pregnant woman, causing her to give birth prematurely but there is no further injury, the offender must pay whatever the woman's husband demands and the judges allow. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life,
