  • Num 25:1-6 : 1 While Israel was staying in Shittim, the people began to commit sexual immorality with the women of Moab. 2 The women invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 Israel yoked itself to Baal of Peor, and the LORD's anger burned against Israel. 4 The LORD said to Moses, 'Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the LORD, so that the LORD's fierce anger may turn away from Israel.' 5 So Moses said to the judges of Israel, 'Each of you must kill those of your men who have joined themselves to Baal of Peor.' 6 Then an Israelite man brought a Midianite woman into his family, in the sight of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel, while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
  • Prov 13:20 : 20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.
  • Hos 4:11-14 : 11 Fornication, wine, and new wine take away the heart and understanding. 12 My people consult their wooden idols, and their staffs provide guidance for them. A spirit of prostitution has led them astray; they have been unfaithful under their God. 13 They sacrifice on the mountaintops and burn offerings on the hills, under oaks, poplars, and terebinths, where the shade is pleasant. Therefore your daughters turn to prostitution and your daughters-in-law to adultery. 14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit fornication, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go aside with harlots and sacrifice with temple prostitutes, and a people without understanding will come to ruin.
  • 1 Cor 10:6-8 : 6 Now these things happened as examples for us, so that we would not desire evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, 'The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.' 8 We must not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand of them fell.
  • 2 Pet 2:10-18 : 10 especially those who follow the corrupt desires of the flesh and despise authority. They are bold and arrogant, and they are unafraid to slander celestial beings. 11 Yet even angels, who are greater in strength and power, do not bring a slanderous judgment against such beings before the Lord. 12 These people, however, are like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They speak abusively about things they do not understand, and in their destruction, they too will be destroyed. 13 They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. They consider it a pleasure to indulge in carousing during the day. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions while they feast with you. 14 They have eyes full of adultery, never ceasing from sin. They entice unstable souls and have hearts trained in greed. They are accursed children. 15 They have abandoned the straight way and gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness. 16 But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—a beast without speech—that spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness. 17 These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness has been reserved for them forever. 18 For they utter arrogant, empty words and entice those who are barely escaping from others living in error, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh and by debauchery.
  • Jude 1:7-9 : 7 In the same way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desires, serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. 8 In the same way, these people also, relying on their dreams, defile their flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme glorious beings. 9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!' 10 These people speak abusively about what they do not understand, and what they do understand by instinct—like unreasoning animals—these are the very things that destroy them. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, rushed headlong for profit into Balaam’s error, and perished in Korah’s rebellion. 12 These are hidden reefs in your love feasts, feasting with you fearlessly, shepherding only themselves. They are waterless clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, uprooted. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
