Furthermore, King David said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

5And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
6And he said to me, Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he remains steadfast to obey my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
9And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.
10Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the buildings thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner rooms thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
19And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.
20And David said to all the assembly, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the assembly blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and the king.
20And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
21And, behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with you for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with you for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the leaders and all the people will be wholly at your command.
17David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
5And behold, I plan to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build a house for my name.
1And Solomon resolved to build a house for the name of the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
10He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.
11Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you.
6And Solomon said, You have shown to your servant David my father great mercy, as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you; and you have kept for him this great kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
7And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.
8And Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me to reign in his place.
9Now, O LORD God, let your promise to David my father be established: for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
7Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
8But the LORD said to David my father, Because it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well in that it was in your heart:
9Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come from your loins, he shall build the house for my name.
2Then King David stood up on his feet, and said, Hear me, my brothers, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations for the building:
16Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
17And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
18And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
19Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come from your body, he shall build the house for my name.
12Huram said moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given to King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, that might build a house for the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
1And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2Then Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
20And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
1Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
2And David commanded to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to cut hewn stones to build the house of God.
35Then you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my place; and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
27Has this thing been done by my lord the king, and you have not shown it to your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
12And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
9To prepare me timber in abundance, for the house which I am about to build shall be exceedingly great.
3You know how David my father could not build a house for the name of the LORD his God because of the wars that surrounded him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
2Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the bronze for things of bronze, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistening stones, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
1So when David was old and full of years, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
1Now the days of David grew near that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
23Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
11And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
37As the LORD has been with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.
