1 Now the days of David grew near that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

35 Then you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my place; and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him peace from all his enemies around: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.
10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you.
19 And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep Your commandments, Your testimonies, and Your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.
20 And David said to all the assembly, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the assembly blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and the king.
2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
18 Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not given you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people.
37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, so may He be with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.
8 And Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me to reign in his place.
12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you advice, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Solomon.
13 Go and approach King David, and say to him, Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? Why then does Adonijah reign?
46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.
