27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council, and the high priest asked them,
33And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with the hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.
35he said, I will hear you when your accusers have come also. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.
39But Paul said, I am a Jew from Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city: and, I implore you, allow me to speak to the people.
40And when he had given him permission, Paul stood on the stairs, and motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying,
21And they said to him, We have neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor have any of the brethren who came reported or spoken any evil of you.
22And they listened to him until this word, and then lifted up their voices and said, Away with such a person from the earth, for it is not fit for him to live.
1Then said the high priest, Are these things so?
19And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine is that you speak of?
29I found him to be accused over questions about their law, but had nothing charged against him deserving death or imprisonment.
30And when it was disclosed to me that a plot was about to be executed against the man, I sent him immediately to you, having also commanded his accusers to state their case before you. Farewell.
13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus; whom you delivered, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.
18And saw him saying to me, Make haste and get quickly out of Jerusalem, for they will not receive your testimony concerning me.
19And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.
11For if I am an offender, or have committed anything worthy of death, I do not refuse to die: but if there is nothing of these charges against me, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar.
21For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and attempted to kill me.
15And saying, Men, why do you do these things? We also are men with similar passions as you and preach to you that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things in them,
8Commanding his accusers to come before you: by examining of whom you yourself may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.
24And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men who are present with us, you see this man, about whom all the Jews have petitioned me, both at Jerusalem and here, crying out that he ought not to live any longer.
30And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and those who sat with them:
40For we are in danger of being called in question for today's uproar, there being no reason which we may give to account for this disturbance.
22What is it then? the multitude must certainly come together: for they will hear that you are come.
