33 Who went in the way before you, to search out a place for you to pitch your tents, in fire by night to show you by what way you should go, and in a cloud by day.
34 And the LORD heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,

43 So I spoke to you; and you would not listen, but rebelled against the command of the LORD, and presumptuously went up into the hill.

6 Understand therefore, that the LORD your God does not give you this good land to possess it because of your righteousness; for you are a stiff-necked people.
7 For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hands; He knows your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.
