17 I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me, says the LORD.
18 Consider now, from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it.
8 And at this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why has the LORD done this to this land and to this house?
13 You said also, Behold, what a weariness it is! and you have sneered at it, says the LORD of hosts; and you brought what was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus you brought an offering: should I accept this from your hand? says the LORD.
9 And now, I pray you, plead with God that he will be gracious to us: this has been by your means: will he regard you? says the LORD of hosts.
10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nothing? Neither do you kindle fire on my altar for nothing. I have no pleasure in you, says the LORD of hosts, nor will I accept an offering from your hand.
21 And this house, which is exalted, shall be an astonishment to everyone who passes by it; so that they will say, Why has the LORD done this to this land and to this house?
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.
11 For behold, the LORD commands, and He will strike the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
15 And I am very displeased with the nations at ease; for I was a little angry, and they helped forward the affliction.
16 Therefore thus says the LORD: I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it, says the LORD of hosts, and a measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.
15 And those who are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.

3 Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not in your eyes as nothing compared to it?
6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts.
11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, says the LORD.
12 But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 And now, because you have done all these works, says the LORD, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not listen; and I called you, but you did not answer;
14 Therefore I will do unto this house, which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.
9 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

7 Yet you have not listened to Me, says the LORD; that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own harm.

4 I will bring it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it, with its timber and its stones.
13 Therefore their goods shall become plunder, and their houses a desolation: they shall build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine from them.
15 And I will strike the winter house with the summer house; the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall come to an end, says the LORD.
4 Though Edom says, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD has indignation forever.
6 A son honors his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is my honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, that despise my name. And you say, How have we despised your name?
4 Thus you shall say to him, The LORD says this; Behold, that which I have built I will break down, and that which I have planted I will uproot, even this whole land.
6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, says the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of heaven, says the LORD.
12 Therefore for your sake Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities, but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces there.
14 You have said, 'It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?'.
11 Since you tread upon the poor, and you take from him burdens of wheat: you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink wine of them.
5 Because you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my precious pleasant things.
6 Behold, the days will come when all that is in your house and that which your fathers have stored up until this day shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD.
11 But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the LORD of hosts.
9 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; You have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one lives there,
