Say to your brothers, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.

2Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
3Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.

9Then God said, Call his name Lo-Ammi, for you are not My people, and I will not be your God.

6And she conceived again and bore a daughter. And God said to him, Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, but I will utterly take them away.
1Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says the LORD; I remember you, the kindness of your youth, the love of your engagements, when you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
45You are your mother's daughter, that loathes her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathe their husbands and their children; your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46And your elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at your left hand; and your younger sister, that dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
61Then you shall remember your ways, and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your elder and your younger; and I will give them unto you for daughters, but not by your covenant.
14Turn, O backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am married to you: and I will take you, one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
1They say, If a man divorces his wife, and she leaves him and becomes another man's wife, shall he return to her again? Would not that land be greatly defiled? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, says the LORD.
2Lift up your eyes to the high places and see where you have not been violated. On the roads you have sat for them, like an Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your whoredoms and your wickedness.
3Therefore, the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain; and you had a harlot's forehead, you refused to be ashamed.
23And I will plant her for me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will say to those who were not my people, You are my people; and they shall say, You are my God.
55When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, then you and your daughters shall return to your former state.
1Thus says the LORD, Where is the certificate of your mother's divorce, whom I have put away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities you have sold yourselves, and for your transgressions your mother is put away.
4Hear the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
2Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
4And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bore sons and daughters. Thus were their names: Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
35Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD;
36Thus says the Lord GOD; Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your whoredoms with your lovers, and with all the idols of your abominations, and by the blood of your children, which you gave to them:
19But I said, How shall I put you among the children and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? And I said, You shall call me, My Father; and shall not turn away from me.
20Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, says the LORD.
6For the LORD has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when you were refused, says your God.
7And I said after she had done all these things, Turn to me. But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also.
2The beginning of the word of the LORD through Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take for yourself a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry, for the land has committed great harlotry, departing from the LORD.
14Yet you say, Why? Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously; yet she is your companion and the wife of your covenant.
1Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
16And it shall be at that day, says the LORD, that you shall call me Ishi; and shall call me no more Baali.
22And in all your abominations and your whoredoms you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were polluted in your blood.
15Thus says the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.
3And say, Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem; Your birth and your nativity are from the land of Canaan; your father was an Amorite, and your mother a Hittite.
11One has committed abomination with his neighbor's wife; another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
14Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.
13Would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me.
22Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
1The word of the LORD also came to me, saying,
51Neither has Samaria committed half of your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters in all your abominations which you have done.
58You have borne your lewdness and your abominations, says the LORD.
36The LORD said moreover to me; Son of man, will you judge Aholah and Aholibah? Yes, declare to them their abominations;
22Therefore, O Aholibah, thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up your lovers against you, from whom your mind is alienated, and I will bring them against you on every side;
30Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Are you polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit you harlotry after their abominations?
23How can you say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after Baalim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: you are a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
31You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore will I give her cup into your hand.
7How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
