15Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin: and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

12Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to test you, as though some strange thing happened to you:
13But rejoice, since you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
10Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction and of patience.
11Behold, we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very compassionate and full of mercy.
12But above all things, my brethren, do not swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no,' 'no'; lest you fall into condemnation.
13Is anyone among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is anyone merry? Let him sing psalms.
3And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces patience;
9Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brethren in the world.
10But the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
9Let the brother of low position rejoice in that he is lifted up;
18Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
19Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger:
9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
4So that we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure:
5Which is a clear sign of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer:
6Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you;
18For the same reason, you also should rejoice and rejoice with me.
3And I wrote this to you so that when I come, I would not have sorrow from those who ought to bring me joy; having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all.
19Brethren, if any of you stray from the truth, and someone turns him back;
24Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
20For you are our glory and joy.
6And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit:
16Rejoice always.
13No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able; but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
17But, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
18For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to help those who are tempted.
5Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers;
12Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13They on the rock are they, who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
22Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
3If indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
7Therefore, brothers, we were comforted concerning you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
15Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
11Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful: nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
16But now you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.
5For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know about your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain.
1Therefore, my dearly beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
