Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

13For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:

11And they said to Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? why have you dealt with us in this way, to bring us out of Egypt?
12Is not this the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than to die in the wilderness.
19Why shall we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.
14Moreover, you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.
9If they say to us, 'Wait until we come to you,' then we will stand still in our place and not go up to them.
2Then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah, You speak falsely: the LORD our God has not sent you to say, Do not go into Egypt to live there:
6Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
12They have denied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

9Only do not rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their protection is removed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
