8The Lord has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: He has stretched out a line, He has not withdrawn His hand from destroying: therefore He made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
9Her gates have sunk into the ground; He has destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the Lord.
10The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground, and keep silence: they have thrown dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
11The LORD has accomplished his fury; he has poured out his fierce anger, and has kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured her foundations.
19Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of those who dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? Is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their carved images and strange idols?
17Zion spreads forth her hands, and there is none to comfort her: the LORD has commanded concerning Jacob that his adversaries should be all around him: Jerusalem is like a menstruous woman among them.

17The Lord has done what He had planned; He has fulfilled His word that He commanded in the days of old: He has thrown down, and has not pitied: and He has caused your enemy to rejoice over you, He has exalted the strength of your adversaries.
18Their heart cried to the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give yourself no rest; let not the apple of your eye cease.
25Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them, and has struck them: and the hills trembled, and their carcasses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
2For the LORD has turned away the grandeur of Jacob, as the grandeur of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and ruined their vine branches.
19The beauty of Israel is slain upon your high places: how are the mighty fallen!
9The women of my people you have cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children you have taken away my glory forever.
8Therefore, the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as you see with your eyes.
11Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
14But Zion said, The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.
6And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed: her princes have become like deer that find no pasture, and they have gone without strength before the pursuer.
7Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none helped her: the adversaries saw her and mocked at her sabbaths.
19Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You struck us down, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, but behold, trouble!
12Therefore for your sake Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
22Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? and against whom have you exalted your voice, and lifted up your eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
9Her filthiness is in her skirts; she does not remember her last end; therefore she came down astonishingly: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction, for the enemy has magnified himself.
10The adversary has spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom you commanded that they should not enter into your congregation.
7Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
17Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare your people, O LORD, and give not your heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
11Now also are many nations gathered against you, that say, 'Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gaze upon Zion.'
12Is it nothing to you, all you that pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is done to me, with which the LORD has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

23Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? and against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
15The Lord has trodden underfoot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he has called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord has trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.
37And the peaceful habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
1How has the gold become dim! How is the finest gold changed! The stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the top of every street.
8For this gird yourselves with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
4In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We are utterly spoiled: he has changed the portion of my people; how has he removed it from me! Turning away, he has divided our fields.
22The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no longer carry you away into captivity; he will visit your iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will uncover your sins.
16The LORD also shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake. But the LORD will be the hope of his people and the strength of the children of Israel.
12And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great calamity: for under the whole heaven, such as has been done upon Jerusalem has not been done.
7Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem, who said, Tear it down, tear it down, even to its foundation.
14Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
14For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities, but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces there.
2The virgin of Israel has fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
