As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead, and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.

11For the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him who calls;
17Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to him who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?
18And Abraham said to God, Oh that Ishmael might live before you!
