If you can certainly declare it to me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty changes of garments. 13 But if you cannot declare it to me, then you shall give me thirty sheets and thirty changes of garments. And they said to him, Put forth your riddle, so we may hear it. 14 And he said to them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days explain the riddle. 15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said to Samson's wife, Entice your husband to tell us the riddle, lest we burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you called us to impoverish us? Is it not so? 16 And Samson's wife wept before him and said, You only hate me, and love me not. You have put forth a riddle to the children of my people, and have not told it to me. And he said to her, Behold, I have not told it to my father or my mother, and shall I tell you? 17 And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted. And it came to pass on the seventh day that he told her, because she pressed him greatly. And she told the riddle to the children of her people. 18 And the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger than a lion? And he said to them, If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have found out my riddle.

You are witnesses this day.' 11 And all the people at the gate and the elders said, 'We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman coming into your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you act worthily in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem. 12 And may your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of the offspring which the LORD will give you by this young woman.' 13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and when he went in to her, the LORD enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son.
  • Matt 22:2-9 : 2 The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who prepared a wedding for his son, 3 And sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and fattened cattle are slaughtered, and everything is ready: come to the wedding. 5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his business: 6 And the rest seized his servants, mistreated them spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard about it, he was angry: and he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9 Go therefore into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding. 10 So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.

My hour has not yet come. 5 His mother said to the servants, Whatever he tells you, do it. 6 Now there were set there six stone waterpots, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons each. 7 Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he said to them, Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the banquet. And they took it. 9 When the master of the banquet had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the banquet called the bridegroom, 10 And said to him, Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have drunk freely, then the inferior. But you have kept the good wine until now.
