28 And now, dear children, remain in Him, so that when He appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.

6 If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world—those who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward.
9 Anyone who goes beyond and does not remain in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God.
16 If anyone sees a brother or sister committing a sin that does not lead to death, they should pray, and God will give life to them—those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying that one should pray about that.
17 All wrongdoing is sin, and yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.
20 We also know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true. And we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

5 And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I am writing you a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.
6 Whoever says they abide in Him must also walk as He walked.

22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.
24 As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
26 I have written these things to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you.
11 Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.
