16Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and has become your enemy?
17When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, "Here is the man I told you about; he will govern my people."
18Saul approached Samuel at the city gate and asked, "Please tell me where the seer's house is."
19Samuel answered, "I am the seer. Go up ahead of me to the high place, for you will eat with me today. In the morning, I will send you on your way and tell you all that is on your heart.
13Samuel said to Saul, "You have acted foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God, which He gave you. If you had, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
14But now your kingdom will not endure. The Lord has sought a man after His own heart and appointed him leader over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you."
15Then Samuel left Gilgal and went up to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul counted the troops who were with him, about six hundred men.
36Saul said, 'Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until dawn. Let us not leave one of them alive.' They replied, 'Do whatever seems best to you.' But the priest said, 'Let us inquire of God here.'
37Saul inquired of God, 'Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you deliver them into the hand of Israel?' But He did not answer him that day.
38Then Saul said, 'Come here, all you chiefs of the people. Investigate and find out what sin has been committed today.
15Samuel lay down until morning. Then he opened the doors of the house of the Lord. He was afraid to tell Eli about the vision.
16But Eli called to Samuel and said, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered, "Here I am."
17Eli asked, "What was it that he said to you? Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you severely if you hide from me anything he told you."
18So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. Eli said, "He is the Lord; let him do what he thinks is best."
17Samuel said, 'Although you were small in your own eyes, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.'
26But Samuel replied to Saul, 'I will not go back with you, because you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.'
19Why then did you not obey the LORD? Why did you rush for the spoil and do what is evil in the eyes of the LORD?
20But Saul said to Samuel, 'I did obey the LORD. I went on the mission the LORD assigned me. I brought back Agag, the king of Amalek, and I utterly destroyed the Amalekites.'
24Then Saul said to Samuel, 'I have sinned. I disregarded the command of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.'
9So Eli said to Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10The Lord came, stood there, and called as he had before: "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening."
23Samuel said to the cook, "Bring the portion of meat I gave you, the one I told you to set aside."
24So the cook took up the thigh with what was on it and placed it before Saul. Samuel said, "Here is what was kept for you. Eat it, because it was reserved for you for this appointed occasion when I said, 'I have invited the people.'" And Saul ate with Samuel that day.
25After they came down from the high place to the town, Samuel spoke with Saul on the roof.
10Just as he finished offering the burnt sacrifice, Samuel came. Saul went out to meet him and to greet him.
11Samuel said, "What have you done?" Saul answered, "When I saw that the people were scattering from me, and you did not come within the appointed days, and that the Philistines were assembling at Michmash,

12Saul said, 'Listen now, son of Ahitub!' And he replied, 'Here I am, my lord.'
31When David's words were heard, they were reported to Saul, and he sent for him.
