17 Samuel said, 'Although you were small in your own eyes, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel.'
18 So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. Eli said, "He is the Lord; let him do what he thinks is best."

14 Then Samuel said to the people, "Come, let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingship there."

14 But now your kingdom will not endure. The Lord has sought a man after His own heart and appointed him leader over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you."
3 Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you are to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate to you.
6 Then Samuel said to the people, 'It is the LORD who appointed Moses and Aaron and who brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt.'
