    9So Eli said to Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

    15Samuel lay down until morning. Then he opened the doors of the house of the Lord. He was afraid to tell Eli about the vision.

    16But Eli called to Samuel and said, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered, "Here I am."

    17Eli asked, "What was it that he said to you? Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you severely if you hide from me anything he told you."

    18So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. Eli said, "He is the Lord; let him do what he thinks is best."

    19Samuel grew up, and the Lord was with him, and he let none of Samuel's words fall to the ground.

He no longer answers me, not by prophets or by dreams. Therefore, I have called upon you to tell me what I should do."

    9Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on behalf of Israel, and the LORD answered him.
