16But Eli called to Samuel and said, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered, "Here I am."
17Eli asked, "What was it that he said to you? Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you severely if you hide from me anything he told you."
18So Samuel told him everything and did not hide anything from him. Eli said, "He is the Lord; let him do what he thinks is best."

15Now the LORD had revealed to Samuel the day before Saul came,
16Then Samuel said to Saul, 'Stop! Let me tell you what the LORD said to me last night.' Saul replied, 'Speak.'
26They got up early, and at the break of dawn, Samuel called to Saul on the roof, saying, "Get up, and I will send you on your way." So Saul got up, and both he and Samuel went outside together.
27As they were going down to the outskirts of the town, Samuel said to Saul, "Tell the servant to go on ahead of us"—and the servant went on—"but you stay here for a moment, and I will give you a message from God."
21Samuel listened to all the words of the people and repeated them to the LORD.
22The LORD said to Samuel, 'Listen to them and appoint a king for them.' Then Samuel said to the people of Israel, 'Each of you, return to your own town.'

4So Samuel did as the LORD commanded. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled at his coming and asked, "Do you come in peace?"
20In the course of time, Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, 'Because I asked the LORD for him.'
14But Samuel said, 'What is this sound of sheep and cattle that I hear?'

27Now a man of God came to Eli and said to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Did I not clearly reveal Myself to your ancestors’ family when they were in Egypt under Pharaoh?’
14Saul asked her, "What does he look like?" She replied, "An old man is coming up, and he is wrapped in a robe." Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground in reverence.
15Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed. The Philistines are waging war against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, not by prophets or by dreams. Therefore, I have called upon you to tell me what I should do."
12Saul said, 'Listen now, son of Ahitub!' And he replied, 'Here I am, my lord.'
14Eli heard the sound of the outcry and said, 'What is the meaning of this uproar?' Then the man hurried over to Eli and told him the news.
9Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on behalf of Israel, and the LORD answered him.
11Will the leaders of Keilah hand me over to him? Will Saul come down as your servant has heard? LORD, God of Israel, please tell your servant." And the LORD answered, "He will come down."
17Then Eli answered, 'Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of Him.'

12Early in the morning, Samuel got up to meet Saul, but he was told, 'Saul went to Carmel and has set up a monument in his own honor. Then he turned and went down to Gilgal.'

11Then Samuel asked Jesse, "Are these all the young men you have?" Jesse replied, "There remains the youngest, but he is tending the sheep." Samuel said to Jesse, "Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives here."
31When David's words were heard, they were reported to Saul, and he sent for him.
5Then Samuel said, 'Assemble all Israel at Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD on your behalf.'
7When he turned and saw me, he called out to me, and I said, 'Here I am.'
