36Saul said, 'Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until dawn. Let us not leave one of them alive.' They replied, 'Do whatever seems best to you.' But the priest said, 'Let us inquire of God here.'
46Then Saul stopped pursuing the Philistines, and they withdrew to their own land.
5Just then, Saul was coming in from the field, following the oxen. He asked, "What is wrong with the people? Why are they all crying?" They told him what the men of Jabesh had said.
18Saul said to Ahijah, 'Bring the ark of God here.' (At that time it was with the Israelites.)
27As they were going down to the outskirts of the town, Samuel said to Saul, "Tell the servant to go on ahead of us"—and the servant went on—"but you stay here for a moment, and I will give you a message from God."
4The Philistines gathered and camped at Shunem, while Saul assembled all Israel, and they camped at Gilboa.
