    10Saul said to his servant, "Good idea. Let’s go." So they set out for the town where the man of God was.

    11As they were climbing the hill to the town, they met young women coming out to draw water, and they asked them, "Is the seer here?"

    12They answered, "Yes, he is ahead of you. Hurry now; he has just come to the town today, for the people are offering a sacrifice at the high place."

    13As soon as you enter the city, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not eat until he arrives because he must bless the sacrifice first. After that, those who have been invited can eat. Go now, for you will find him at this time.

    22Then Samuel took Saul and his servant, brought them into the hall, and seated them at the head of those who had been invited—about thirty in number.

    23Samuel said to the cook, "Bring the portion of meat I gave you, the one I told you to set aside."

    24So the cook took up the thigh with what was on it and placed it before Saul. Samuel said, "Here is what was kept for you. Eat it, because it was reserved for you for this appointed occasion when I said, 'I have invited the people.'" And Saul ate with Samuel that day.

    25After they came down from the high place to the town, Samuel spoke with Saul on the roof.

    26They got up early, and at the break of dawn, Samuel called to Saul on the roof, saying, "Get up, and I will send you on your way." So Saul got up, and both he and Samuel went outside together.

    27As they were going down to the outskirts of the town, Samuel said to Saul, "Tell the servant to go on ahead of us"—and the servant went on—"but you stay here for a moment, and I will give you a message from God."

    15Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul answered, "I am deeply distressed. The Philistines are waging war against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, not by prophets or by dreams. Therefore, I have called upon you to tell me what I should do."

    4So they went through the hill country of Ephraim and the land of Shalisha, but they did not find them. Then they went through the land of Shaalim, but the donkeys were not there. They passed through the territory of Benjamin, but they still did not find them.

    5When they reached the region of Zuph, Saul said to the servant with him, "Come, let’s go back, or else my father will stop worrying about the donkeys and start worrying about us."

    6But the servant replied, "Look, there is a man of God in this town, and he is highly respected. Everything he says comes true. Let’s go there now; perhaps he can tell us the way to go."

    10When they arrived at Gibeah, a group of prophets came to meet him. Then the Spirit of God came mightily upon Saul, and he began to prophesy among them.
