    8 When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the towns he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. He restored the altar of the LORD that was in front of the LORD’s temple.

    1 In the thirty-sixth year of Asa's reign, Baasha, the king of Israel, came against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from entering or leaving King Asa of Judah.

    24 Then Asa rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the city of his father David. And his son Jehoshaphat reigned in his place.
