3We give no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited.

4But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak—not to please people, but to please God, who examines our hearts.
5For we never used words of flattery, as you know, nor did we put forth a pretext for greed—God is our witness.
12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
8So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, His prisoner. Instead, join with me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.
6May the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands,
9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.)
1Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, completing holiness in the fear of God.
6I pray that your partnership in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ.
5This is evidence of God's righteous judgment, so that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.
13For this reason, we also thank God constantly, because when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a message from men but as what it truly is—the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.
